Kenya Hands Over American Criminal To The FBI

An American national who reportedly fled to Kenya after his alleged involvement in the January 5th post-election chaos at U.S Capitol in Washington, has been deported.

Isaac Sturgeon,32, is a business man from Montana and is said to have jetted in Kenya immediately after the incident. The Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), had offered a $100,000 (Ksh10.9m) reward for his capture.

Sturgeon was seized by immigration officers from a Nairobi hotel on Friday evening.

Earlier last month, FBI had listed Sturgeon as “one of the most wanted criminals.”

Sturgeon was taken into custody upon arrival at JFK International Airport in New York last Sunday.

Supporters of the defeated Republican candidate Donald Trump stormed the Capitol in an attempt to overturn the November, 2020 election results.

Sturgeon will be charged with destruction of property, assaulting law enforcement personnel, targeting members of the media for assault, and other unlawful acts.
