The residence of Tana River Governor Dhadho Godhana has been put under restriction after some members of staff and other people tested positive for Coronavirus.
This was confirmed by Tana River County Communication Director Steve Juma who stated that the Governor’s residence is currently out of bound and it is being fumigated.
“Some of the staff members who are frequent visitors at the governor’s home including me tested positive for COVID-19 and were placed under isolation in our own homes,” Juma stated.
Juma revealed that he had also contracted the virus alongside others and he was placed under isolation for a period of 16days. But he has since recovered as his recent result revealed that he is negative.
“Due to confidentiality in medical records, I can not reveal who else tested positive but the Governor’s home is closed off as they disinfect it.”
Javan Bonaya, a County Health Executive officer also confirmed that four members of staff and twelve other people had tested positive at the Governor’s residence making the place highly infectious and warned the people from accessing the area.
“I have asked the family members of the Governor and members of the public to stay away from the residence because it is under health watch,” Bonaya stated.
Tana River County Government had stated that they did not have enough space in their referral Hospital to accommodate 200 beds that was ordered by the Government to prepare for the surge in the COVID-19 cases.
