Governor Mutua Goes After Activist Boniface Mwangi

Dr. Alfred Mutua, the governor of Machakos, has vowed to sue activist Boniface Mwangi for defamation.

This comes after Mwangi made a viral video accusing Mutua of being behind the bombing of his Machakos home on Wednesday night.

Boniface’s comment in the video was slanderous, according to Mutua, and revealed him as a “bad person.”

The Governor claimed that the activist disseminated information to the effect that “you blew up my house, which I worked so hard to create,” through his lawyer Harrison Kinyanjui.

Mwangi believes that if the government does not examine the case, the criminals will have greater motivation to hunt him down and harm others.

The incident on Wednesday attracted conflicting reactions from Kenyans, with some claiming that the activist deserved what happened to him because of what they called his deliberate attempts to enrage the Machakos governor.

Others, like as former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga, have criticised the act, claiming that it raises major concerns about people’s safety and property.
