DJ Evolve’s mother, Mary Hongo, dies

DJ Evolve’s mother, Mary Hongo is dead.

She reportedly died on Wednesday evening at her Lucky Summer home in Nairobi. 

According to her husband, the 54-year-old collapsed and died after experiencing breathing difficulties while doing house chores. 

The family is in shock following her abrupt death.

“I was at work when I was informed she had been rushed to the hospital. It was abrupt but we leave everything to God.”She was not sick but nowadays, people walk with sick bodies unknowingly,” says her husband James Orinda.

She was pronounced dead on arrival.

Dj Evolve’s shooting incident

Her death comes as a blow to the family following Dj Evolve’s shooting incident which subsequently left him bedridden to date. 

He was shot in the neck by Embakasi East MP Babu Owino at B-Club in Kilimani in January 2020.

The late Mary Hongo in an interview once said she had quit her job to take care of her son since the incident. 

“Since January 17, everything stopped on my side because I couldn’t do anything and my child is in this condition,” Mary added.

Her body has been transferred to Chiromo Mortuary.
