DCI Names 3 Kalenjin Leaders Behind The Stoning Of Raila’s Chopper

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has revealed the suspects allegedly involved in hurling stones at Raila Odinga’s helicopter.

The DCI named Soy MP Caleb Kositany, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and Uasin Ngishu county speaker David Kiplagat as the main planners and funders of the violence meted on the ODM leader.

“Preliminary investigations indicate that the chaos was organized and coordinated by  Soy MP Caleb Kositany, Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi, and David Kiplagat, speaker of Uasin Gishu County Assembly,” DCI said.

The three have been summoned to appear in person before the Rift Valley DCI Regional coordinator on April 3 at 9 am for further investigations into their involvement in the incident.

Suna East MP Junet Mohamed claimed that they were attacked in Uasin Gishu on Friday as they made their way to the burial of Mzee Kibor together with ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Junet claims that they were mid-air when the attack happened. He said they had to seek alternative means as soon as possible.

The Cabinet Secretary for Interior, Fred Matiang’i has directed the National Police Service to investigate and arrest youths involved in the stoning of Odinga’s chopper on Friday.

In a statement, Matiang’i condemned the attack, saying that those who planned the attack should also be arrested.

“I call upon the National Police Service to investigate the matter and ensure that all the culprits and their masterminds are made to swiftly and decisively face the consequences of their criminal actions,” he said.

The CS said such attacks take our country back to the days it has worked hard to put behind, which was as a result of political intolerance.
