A hair transplant clinic located in Westlands, Nairobi, is now battling allegations of causing permanent damage to textured and curly hair types during procedures.
The clinic, which is operated by Turkish doctors, is accused of lacking the specialized expertise required to properly transplant hair with distinct characteristics, such as tight curls and unique growth patterns, commonly found in individuals of African descent.
Patients have reported that the transplant techniques used at the clinic are not suited to these specific characteristics, resulting in irreversible damage to both the donor and recipient areas of the scalp.
On top of providing subpar services, the clinic is accused of unprofessional conduct and inadequate customer support.
Clients also report that the clinic does not issue receipts for services and lacks proper payment systems, with some being directed to transfer money through M-Pesa agents rather than receiving proper documentation for services rendered.
Complaints also point to the clinic’s unprofessional conduct, including allegations of staff allegedly abusing drugs before performing surgeries.

They permanently damage hair for Africans whom they entice to go for hair transplants. These quack Turkish doctors don’t know how to transplant African hair, which is different from other races’ hair, as our African hair is curly and requires only those with experience to transplant. They don’t care; they damage your donor area and leave your hair worse than they found it, with terrible customer support for Africans. Their services are jua kali, not professional like you would expect from doctors. They don’t even give receipts for their services, they don’t have a paybill; they ask you to withdraw to some M-Pesa agent, and some doctors in there smoke and come for surgery smelling of smoke.
Botched hair transplants are a disaster because you can’t reverse them. Please inform the public and your followers to run away from these Turkish quacks and share more to expose them.”
