Sources at Karen Hospital revealed that the outspoken Gatundu South MP is lucky to be alive. According to a doctor who spoke to Citizen Weekly, Kuria was admitted in serious condition and immediately put in HDU were he was stabilized before his left lung collapsed, forcing doctors to transfer him to ICU where he slipped into a coma for the next 3 days.
Kuria disclosed five days ago that he had been battling COVID-19 at Karen Hospital for 27 days. He asked Kenyans not to drop guard stating that COVID-19 is real and is killing people. Before contracting the virus, Kuria had been spotted severally without a face mask or observing social distancing in joints along Kiambu Road.
Other leaders hospitalized after contracting the deadly virus across the country include Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua, Kandara MP Alice Wahome, Kirinyaga Women Rep Wangui Ngirichi, former MP Kabando Wa Kabando and ousted Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu.
