Court Allows Francis To Stay In Office Temporarily

Wangusi has won temporary reprieve after the High Court on Tuesday allowed him to remain in office.

Mr Wangusi is to continue heading the Communications Authority of Kenya as the director-general pending determination of a case challenging the appointment of Ms Mercy Wanjau as the new head.

Ms Mercy Wanjau, who until her appointment was the CA legal services director, was picked to replace Mr Wangusi whom the government said had attained the mandatory retirement age.

But Mr Wangusi vowed to stay put, saying he still had one year to go in his contract with the Communications Authority.

He refused to hand over to Ms Wanjau creating a leadership crisis that saw the new head order him to exit office and vacate the institutional house he resides in.
