Blogger Edgar Obare Arrested By DCI

Sensational blogger Edgar Obare has on Thursday claimed to have been arrested by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations over an expose published on his social media account involving Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and  a lifestyle influencer named Natalie Tewa. Obare had been publishing posts alleging that the influencer was in a relationship with Governor Joho with whom she had flown to Dubai on a trip. The posts also included Tewa’s apparent visa details.

Taking to his Insta stories on Thursday, Obare alleged that he has since been arrested by ‘very many officers’ at his home and was headed to Nairobi. The blogger had earlier indicated that the posts had landed him in trouble after he was summoned by an officer from the investigative agency to shed light on the expose involving the governor.

”As I said earlier I was summoned by the DCI. Today morning I was arrested by very many officers at my home. Now am headed to Nairobi. Thank you for your undying support”, he wrote.

Following the apparent expose, Kenyans on Twitter expressed varied reactions on the platform, with some calling out the blogger for invading the privacy of the influencer , while others lauded him saying that since the Governor was alleged to have used taxpayers’ funds on the trip, it was only proper to expose how the same had been utilised.
