Kenyan Consulting Firm Rebrands After Being Exposed For Racist Layoffs

IPE Global Africa Limited changed its name to Triple Line Consulting after a blog documented how it singled out and sacked all its Kenyan staff.

The firm is now headed by a Rajiv Sharma from India whose credentials at the Immigration Department is questionable, mostly paid for through heavy bribe of Sh1 million.

Mr Rajiv Sharma

Triple Line transferred the previous acting country head, a Greek guy known as Nikos, to Rwanda. The manager who wrote and oversaw the retrenchments Richard Waddington was also moved to London office from Africa (Ethiopia and Kenya).

The firm now lacks inclusion both racially and tribally as most staff are Kenyan Indians and one ethnic group, the Kikuyus.

It hides this fact on its website by putting all images in black and white where the white and blacks resemble each other.

There were allegations of some racist tendencies perpetrated by such staff as Juliette Seibold and Richard Waddington.

Word is that some staff, even white ones were shocked at the behavior of the two towards some female employees of the firm.

The current firm.

Africa strategy without Africans

Online sources indicate that in late 2019, the firm had a majority of Kenyans working within its ranks but a change of strategy led to the firing of all Kenyan staff replaced by those from Europe and India.

The Kenyan staff won projects occasionally in the tough international development market, but were replaced without much care for this as the new manager for African strategy Richard Waddington foresaw that an African Strategy could not be undertaken by Africans.

Many of the replacements taking managerial jobs at Triple Line (formerly IPE Global Africa Limited) are non performers.

In February 2017, DfID cut off funding after it emerged that Adam Smith International (ASI), which has been entrusted with £450M in development cash since 2011, had tried to profiteer by exploiting leaked department documents. It was also heavily criticised for trying to “unduly influence” a parliamentary inquiry by engineering “letters of appreciation” from beneficiaries of its projects.

IPE’s head of strategy, Richard Waddington came from ASI.

The new head of the form Rajiv dharma has over 18 years in international development.
