Jumia Online Store Threaten To Sue Kenyan Influencer Who Demanded Payment

Jumia Online Store is accused of refusing to pay their online influencer by the name Osama Otero real name Kevin Monari Mogeni, for the works done and threatening to sue him for defamation.

An irate Osama Otero had shared a picture, phone number and other details of the person, a Ms Christine Mutugi, that he believes to have blocked his Sh70,000 payment.

Yesterday, a law firm by the name Majimbo A.G. & Company a demand letter, demanding that the influencer delete the offending tweets, post a public apology, witin 12 hours  failure to which they sue him on behalf of Christine Mutugi.

Many Kenyan influencers online have always fell victim to unscrupulous and greedy staff in the firms they work for. Most have culminated in the hashtag #PayInfluencersKE where they name and shame the conmen.

By the time of writing this, Osama Otero had not complied with all the requirement of the demand letter. He had only deleted the tweets but not stopped reminding Jumia of an unpaid salary.

Some netizens wondered how one would hire a lawyer instead of paying for services offered
