Gachagua’s “State Capture” Claims Gain Traction as Ruto’s Ties to Billionaire Narendra Raval Deepen

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s explosive allegation that President William Ruto is “captured” by Devki Group billionaire Narendra Raval appears to be gaining credibility—with new revelations fueling the controversy.

Gachagua recently claimed that Raval—whose company supplies steel and cement for the government’s affordable housing program—is not just a contractor but a “business partner” of the President. Now, fresh reports suggest that one of Raval’s private helicopters has been leased to State House for Ruto’s official errands.

Journalist Saddique Shaban revealed on X that the chopper was used by State House officials during the President’s recent tour of Mt. Kenya, raising eyebrows over the blurred lines between private business and state affairs.

Insiders allege that Raval, a major financier of Ruto’s 2022 campaign, is now reaping rewards through lucrative government contracts—prompting serious conflict-of-interest concerns. With Devki heavily involved in key state projects, critics question whether Raval’s influence extends beyond commerce into policymaking.

As scrutiny mounts, the government faces growing pressure to address allegations of preferential treatment and undue billionaire influence in Kenya’s highest office.
