Businessman Charged For Stealing Sh80M From Vintage Africa Ltd

A businessman has been charged with stealing Sh80 million from Vintage Africa Limited.

Paul Ajwang Okumu appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku and pleaded not guilty to three counts.

The court heard that Ajwang committed the offence between June 1, 2018 and May 21, 2020 at Vintage Africa Limited offices. It is alleged that he committed the offence jointly with others not before court after conspiring to steal Sh. 80,673, 324 property of the said company.

He is also charged with stealing Sh.8,759,000 belonging to the company.

The prosecution further accused Ajwang of handling the said Sh8.7 million while knowing they were obtained fraudulently.

He was released on a bond of Sh2 million or alternative cash bail of Sh1 million pending hearing and determination of the case.
