DNA Results Reveal That Jowie Irungu And Maribe Were At The Late Monica Kimani’s House.

The DNA samples taken from the scenes of murder of Monica Kimani have confirmed Joseph Kuria Irungu, the main suspect also known as ‘Jowie’, interacted with the deceased during her last moments.

On Wednesday, a report by the Government analyst presented in court connected Jowie to the scene of crime; the late Monica Kimani’s apartment.

Just five months and two weeks since the start of the trial, Government analyst Dr. Joseph Kagunda Kimani submitted a report indicating the findings of the 73 samples taken from the scene of crime.

Among those being buccal swabs of the two main suspects – Jowie and journalist Jacque Maribe – as well as former suspects Brian Kassaine and Jennings Orlando Odhiambo.

According to the conclusion of the 5-page report, DNA profile generated from a pillow and a rear seat matched the DNA profile generated from the buccal swab of Jowie.

Two other DNA profiles of unidentified persons were however also generated from other items, one being that of a woman and another of a man.

Government analyst Dr. Kagunda will on Thursday be cross-examined at the Milimani Law Courts.

The trial that began on June 24 this year has seen three witnesses take to the stand; a government pathologist, a police constable, and a friend of the late Monica Kimani who narrated to the court the deceased’s last moments with Jowie

Monica Kimani was murdered on September 2018 and her body discovered at her house in Kilimani area, Nairobi.
