Why Lang’ata MP Jalang’o Has Been Banned From Popular Clubs

Kisumu’s notorious club de place joins the list of  entertainment joints  reported to have strategically blacklisted controversial Langa’ta MP Jalang’o over his political stand against ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Weekly Citizen has established that a number of entertainment joints across the country as well as corporate bodies are now avoiding the besieged politician like a plague.

An insider at club de place confided in our reporter that Jalang’o is temporarily not needed at the  premises since he led a team of Luo politicians to renegade against Raila.

The proprietor of club de place Kennedy Angwen is said to be stuck between a rock and a hard place considering that Jalang’o is his personal friend while at the same time he cannot afford to betray Raila and the ODM fraternity.

Word has it that the soft spoken businessman heavily supported Jalang’o financially during his campaigns.

Angwen

Fear is that Kisumu is an ODM zone and given that bitterness is still fresh among Raila supporters , allowing Jalang’o to perform at the place or anywhere in the region was purely suicidal.

A source said, Angwen is among those who had been warned that Felix Odiwuor aka Jalang’o was an UDA mole within ODM.

Highly placed sources within Orange house revealed that even Raila himself was repeatedly warned Jalang’o was a mole and many wanted him to be blocked during the nominations.

A spot check by Weekly Citizen also reveals that the politician’s restaurant in Nairobi dubbed Wapek has been unusually recording relatively low customers since he deserted Raila and officially declared his support for President William Ruto.

Raila’s supporters who previously frequented the hotel are apparently bitter that Jalang’o and his wife Amina Chao used the ODM leader as a marketing tool to promote his restaurant.

‘The same fellow has now resorted to badmouthing at State House.” A bitter Raila supporter thundered.

Jalang’o and Raila at Wapek restaurant

Back in Kisumu another bar that was famously associated with Jalang’o is said to be suffering low customers since the politician’s drama with Raila started.

The management of Pit Stop Dala is now embroiled in frantic damage control attempts and  has come out to declare that the premises is not owned by the besieged politician contrary to the speculations.

Apparently,  the Pit Stop Dala management initially exploited the information that Jalang’o owned the place,  as part of marketing strategy.

This went on well for them until recently when Raila rebuked and disowned Jalang’o.

The family behind the once popular bar is now regretting as customers desert the joint.

The former Kiss 100 presenter led a team of eight ODM MPs and an independent lawmaker to State House, whereby they essentially ditched the Azimio leader and pledged to work with the ruling government.

They also allegedly assured Ruto that they would not attend Azimio rallies.

He led among others Mark Nyamita (Uriri), Tom Ojienda (Kisumu), Shakeel Shabir (Independent – Kisumu Town East), Caroli Omondi (Suba South), Elisha Odhiambo (Gem) and  Gideon Ochanda (Bondo).

Jalang’o  quickly shared a photo with President Ruto at State House, confirming that he was among the MPs who had breakfast with the head of state and told critics he categorically did not regret meeting with the president.

Speaking during Azimio La Umoja Parliamentary Group meeting that followed immediately, Raila while breathing fire termed Jalang’o and his group as political prostitutes.

“If you want to go and see the president as a personal friend at State House, go. If you want to go and talk about issues that affect the party then you must be permitted by the party before you go to see the president. These people must be seen for what they are, traitors in the cause of a revolution,” Raila spoke
