YouTuber Oga Obinna was challenged by his children who asked him to give them a family allowance of KSh 4,000 each
Obinna noted it was not a bad idea for his kids to receive some money but saw it as a greedy perspective
He highlighted the young children did not lack anything including food, shelter and clothes, as he defended himself
Obinna shared his thoughts as the kids also shared their views on why and how much they wanted.
“The allowance is a good idea but the amounts are tricky. I will think about it. If I put a date on my thinking then I put pressure on myself. That is extra money that I have selflessly opted to give you and it is not like you sleep hungry or don’t have clothes.
I agree the proposal is valid, it makes sense because your YouTube channel makes money though not so much. I do not want rumours I am using you for my benefit,” Obinna said.
Obinna opened up on the various financial obligations he had including paying his crew, noting that it was not little money.
“There are many people who are waiting for that money. Not like it is lying somewhere with no use or purpose. There are a lot of things. The money goes into the system,” he shared.
He asked his son what he would do if he gave him KSh 50,000, and he said he would invest it in a game.
“I would put it in Roblox and generate more money,” he confidently stated as his father burst out in laughter.
Obinna asked his three daughters what they would do if he gave them the same amount and they gave similar answers except for Lola who said she lend it.
He used the argument to disregard why as much as allowance was good, he did not see any need.
“You do not have a plan and you have no pressing needs. You just want it for your benefit and luxury. However, I will think about it,” he concluded.
