Radio personality Nick Ndeda and his wife Muthoni Gitau have split. Opening up their decision in a recent YouTube video, Nick and Muthoni stated that they had grown apart. Because of this, they felt it would be fair to pursue their goals apart as individuals and no longer as a couple.
“So the basis of this entire video is that we are going our separate ways. Because when we first got together we had goals and she had her own personal goals. And that is important, everyone should have their own personal goals even when you come into a relationship. When time went on there were differences in how we were pursuing the said goals. You were very aggressive chasing the personal goals as well as the shared goals, I was a little bit on the lack side especially with the shared and even to a certain extent I started neglecting my own personal goals and that’s how we ended up getting distracted and eventually not contributing enough.
“That led us to the point where we realized that we are sort of moving in different directions and given how we are right now as people; two very unconventional people, we came to the agreement to pursue and explore our own personal goals,” said Nick.
According to Muthoni, their separation was necessary to allow them time and space to grow as individuals, adding that her intention after the breakup is to get back into the dating scene.
“Because we are moving in different directions then it makes no sense to be together because now the shared goals post has moved. I’m pretty young, we started dating when I was 23. So I didn’t get to….. I haven’t dated much. I have only had three relationships and I feel like maybe that is something I want to explore. I want to go date.
“We felt it would make sense to sit down and do this video to just avoid the confusion and random speculations. Also, if someone is seen somewhere doing something and we know how people are nowadays, taking pictures and posting them. I have said this and I will say it again, I am here to enjoy life. I feel like I want to enjoy life even more but I feel right now I don’t want to enjoy it with Nick. I want to enjoy life as Muthoni and as Muthoni alone,” she said.
Responding to whether they would get back together, Muthoni stated that they are unsure of what the future holds for them and, therefore, cannot confirm whether they will ever rekindle their love.
“We don’t know how long this will last so if you have questions like, ‘When will you guys get back together,’ the answer is we don’t know. Also, this decision was not made overnight. It has been three months of talking, processing and reaching out to professionals. I feel very good about this decision, it makes me feel very excited for whatever is coming next.”
