Ex-Tahidi High actor Omosh joins UDA party

Popular thespian Joseph Kinuthia alias Omosh Kizangila has been pictured at Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance Party headquarters. A photo posted online captured the former Tahidi high actor at the party’s headquarters receiving the outfit’s merchandise from party officials.

Speaking to K24 Digital, the actor said that he only made a casual visit to the party headquarters and was registered as a member.

“I was at the party headquarters and I have registered as a member of the party. I have endorsed the bottom-up approach since it seeks to uplift ordinary Kenyans out of poverty,” he said. 

Celebrity involvement in Kenyan politics has been a norm for a long time now. In their quest for re-election in 2017, President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto recruited celebrities in their droves to aid them in their campaigns. The strategy has often worked for politicians in the event that the celebrities enjoy large following across the country.

ODM presidential aspirant Jimmy Wanjigi recently roped in popular comedian Eric Omondi in his campaign team ahead of the 2022 presidential contest.

Eric has hit the ground running and initiating a campaign program geared at rallying youths behind the business mogul. The comedian has been pushing his candidate’s slogan, Fagia Wote, which seeks to wipe out seasoned politicians, that the business magnate opines that have outlived their usefulness.

ODM party leader Raila Odinga in July 2021 wooed musicians drawn from across the nation to back his presidential candidacy. The opposition chief, speaking at the SkizaThanksgiving day in Muranga, asked the artists to use their craft to woo votes for him.
