Senior journalists sent home

The media industry has seemingly finally hit a hiatus in line with the country’s tough economic times with the latest most affected being Mediamax Network Limited.

Here is a list obtained by Pulselive.co.ke, of seniors editors and prominent journalists who have been sacked by the Kijabe street based media house.

Fred Njiri – Managing Editor K24 

Tony Timase – Head of Business k24

Torome Tirike – Head of sports 

Franklin Wambugu – Managing Editor, Swahili

Frankilin Macharia – Senior Reporter 

Anders Ihaji – political reporter

Ali Mtenzi- deputy Managing Editor

Mwanaisha Chidzuga – Swahili anchor

Juma Bhalo – Swahili Anchor

Reports had started swirling indicating that Mediamax will be sacking about 160 people in another mass layoff.

Mediamax issued a redundancy notice on 30th September 2019 and the notice was to end this week on Wednesday.
