Multichoice Employees Arraigned Over Fraud

Four top employees of Multichoice Kenya Limited were arraigned in Court with allegations of conspiring to defraud the Company. 

The four are; Eugine Kariuki Muchemi, Lavender Lucy Waindi, Wilson Munyu Kiraba and Stanley Kabathi.

Eugine Kariuki Muchemi, the first accused person was charged with making a false document contrary to section 347 of the Penal Code. 

Facts as per the charge sheet are, in the month of February 2017, with intent to deceive, made a false structural integrity investigation report on proposed construction of office block for Multichoice Kenya on plot number LR NO. 3734/421. 

The accused purported the integrity investigation report to be valid and genuine.

Further Lavender Lucy Waindi, the second accused was charged with inciting another to commit an offence.

She is said to have on 8th April 2017, incited Eugine Kariuki to extract part of the structural integrity investigation report that was to be presented to cementers limited.

Jointly, the four were charged with Conspiracy to defraud. Particulars of the offence are, on diverse dates between 1st February 2017 and 30th April 2017, being the directors of Interconsult Engineers Limited, Conappex structural and civil engineering. 

SK Archplans and head of legal at MIH East Africa respectively conspired to defraud Multi Kenya Limited by altering structural integrity investigation report on proposed construction of office block.

The four upon plea taking denied the charges before the Court and were each released with a Bond of Ksh 500,000 with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 100,000
