DIRECTORS OF DISTILLING COMPANY CHARGED WITH SELLING GOODS USING FAKE STAMPS.

Two directors of Patiala Distillers limited have been charged with selling excisable goods affixed with counterfeit stamps.

Francis Kiambi Matanka Kiriiro appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi and denied the charge.

His wife Mary Waigwe Muthoni, who is also the director of Patiala Distillers was not in court and is expected to appear in court on Tuesday next week to plead to the charge.

The prosecution told the court that on June 28 and on July 5 this year, being directors of spirit maker, the duo were found to have sold to Nice Link dealers limited a wines and spirit shop situated along Mwiki road, excisable goods affixed counterfeit stamps.

It is alleged that the company sold 178 bottles of blue Ice Vodka of 250ml each with.

Kiambi was released on a cash bail of Sh500,000. The case will be mentioned next week.
