CITY LAWYER CHARGED WITH STEALING FROM CLIENT

An city advocate has been charged with stealing Sh3.9 from a client.

Catherine Wairimu Mugo appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku facing theft charges.

The lawyer is accused that being an agent of Michael Chege Thuo he stole Sh3, 995, 000.

It is alleged that she committed on diverse dates between January 5 and June 4, 2015 at Equity Bank, Kenyatta Avenue branch in Nairobi.

The court heard that Wambugu trusted her as an advocate but stole the money.

She was released on a bond of Sh500,000 or an alternative cash bail of Sh200,000.

The prosecution has listed three witnesses to testify against the lawyer.
