Case proceedings stall as power outage paralyzes operations at Milimani Law Courts

Court proceedings have been halted today at Milimani law courts due to blackout which started at 9:50am.

Litigants are currently stranded within the corridors and outside the court premises awaiting further directions.

Both virtual and physical proceeding are unable to proceed and only one court is operating an outside tent.

A source from the Judiciary says that the institution’s transformer blew up two months ago and that they have been using a backup generator.

Lawyer Evans Ondieki has condemned the Judiciary and asked Chief Justice Martha Koome to take quick action to sought out the power outrage.

“The court proceedings have been halted substantially by lack of power and l think there is no emergency in terms of generator to assist and this has forced to adjourn most of the cases,”Ondieki said.
