Barasa Desperate For An Out Of Court Settlement With MusicianIn Assault Case

The political war between Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa and his opponent in 2022 general elections Brian Khaemba has moved to courts. According to those in the know, Khaemba is the main pusher to have the MP fixed in the assault case involving musician Stephen Masinde popularly known as Steve Kay. By last week, we had information, the MP is working on modalities to have the musician paid his Sh3.5 million construction fee and drop the assault case.

Didmus BarasaOthers say the MP, who is close to the musician and has been spotted entertaining women together, had called him personally to drop the case. The MP appeared before Kimilili magistrate Gladys Odhiambo on charges of causing grievous harm but pleaded not guilty. The MP is said to have engaged Masinde during a function of Lurare Baptist Primary school.

Brian KhaembaThe MP was arrested at his Nasianda home while with his family members. Lawyer Khaemba is representing the musician in the criminal case. If found guilty, Barasa faces severe sentence. Informed sources say, the musician is also under pressure from family members and friends to drop the case.
