Lang’ata MP Nixon Korir’s NG-CDF Scandals Exposed

Today we will do a bit of a review of what Nixon Korir has been able to do in the 12th Parliament as an MP for Langata Constituency. His focus was education, land grabbing, demolitions, road safety. Will touch on his corruption and nepotism scandals. What he does with his CDF.

An MP has the following roles that we will see if he has fulfilled:-Representation : the issues he has raised on our behalf in Parliament-Contribution and development to law making- His NG-CDF use . water, health, educational facilities etc-Role in committees.

Nixon was the secretary of Youth affairs in the Office of the President, involved in the oversight of youth related functions of Gvt like Uwezo fund, Youth enterprise funds, NYS, Kenya National Volunteers service.Langata has apx 500,000 people. It covers Karen , Langata, South C, Mugumoini, Nairobi West, Nyayo Highrise. Sad fact: Nyayo highrise ( 0.4 km2) has the same number of people that Karen has, which sits on 48 km squared) over 24,000 residents.

With the population, housing and education has always been a challengeLangata has 12 Primary schools and 3 Secondary schools.THREE!Students finish KCPE but the chances of them getting a school near their home is close to zero.In 2018 and 2019, Nixon requested Gvt institutions to sell at least 5 acres of land so he can build more secondary schools and a polytecnic.Prison Service, KWS and the UoN with huge chunks of land in Langata, and even with the pressure of the populations, wanakataa.Still on education, Nixon has pushed to have Aprentice Centres in all constituencies.

The centres would teach, test and certify young people in carpentry, masonry, electrical, plumbing etc to enable them get jobs. Will see if he did thisThrough the CDF, he has sponsored tertiary education in training centres for the youth. Masonry, carpentry, cake making, hair and beauty. He is constructing the Langata Technical and Vocational College (TVC) construction in Madaraka. for technical skills development. Haya, Lets see representation in Parliament. 2018: Nixon went in guns blazing.

He supported the Tax Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2018. To raise more revenue for the Government so it can sustain itself without borrowing. (lol!)Housing:He also supported the exemption of the stamp duty for the first home owners which is 4% the value of the house. Not sure if this was done, so someone can add to this.Demolitions: Remember when Seefer apartments were marked for demolitions? Nixon, together with others like Sakaja represented the residents and owners of Seefer in Parliament. He questioned the formula used by NEMA and WARMA in arriving at the decision to demolish the apartment

Matter Landgrabbing:

The Forestry Ministry wanted to reclaim its land that had been grabbed. KMA, Sun Valley, Forest View, Royal Park, Langata Womens Prisons. 2,000 titles had been issued by the lands Ministry, 6000 households and over 20,000 residents living in the Mugomoini.Nixon represented his people in Parliament. Not sure if the case is still ongoing but the courts halted the demolitions.Haya, let us look at his corruption and nepotism scandals and CDF use shall we?I could not find his NG-CDF online, and i relied on his Facebook page (for the good things) as well as other news online. With his CDF, it was alleged that he built a kitchen for Olum school for Ksh 320,000.

Sijaona ndani but that does not look like anything clost to 20,000. Also, members of his CDF are given tenders to supply furniture to schools.

On matters nepotism, Nixon has been accused of disbursing bursary to more members of the Kalenjin community. Last year, 4,300 students were allocated bursaries.I am yet to find the whole list, so that was part of the list.

These people don’t post things online, yawa! its hard to get concrete evidence from NG-CDFLangata CDF since Nixon Korir became the MP has received over Ksh 338,043,081.95.Let us see what has been done.If you can add, sawa. its just information i got here and there. Oh, this is where i got the information from. https://ngcdf.go.ke/disbursement/ Check how much your MP got vs the work he has done on the ground.

Again, the projects i am posting is what he has chosen to show. i hope after this, residents in this constituency can point out the gaps.CDF: 30 door Bathrooms block at Karen C girls sec school. ongoing construction. paving the road to Ngong Forest Primary school in Karen Ward. completed. Vijana na kazi projects. of course wheelbarrows, chips and smokie things, vinyozi etc. Recarpeting of roads.I am not sure if this was his CDF, or Kerra doing its work. From the ground, alot of roads have been done but zero drainage. Oh, apologies. the roads are KERRA.

Now, the work of the CDF is to put up new water, health and education facilities in all parts of the country, including remote areas that were usually overlooked during funds allocation in national budgets.I have not seen any new water facility, in a Constituency where the largest ward, Lagata, has no water.I have also not seen any health facilities put up with CDF money. If you have any evidence, ( which i doubt, he would have shared himself) please share. In 2020, NMS Boss met all the 17 MPs plus the senator and Woman rep. The main issue discussed was access to water in places that Nairobi water has not piped, or over rations in the wake of CovidDid you know that Nairobi has boreholes and bowsers and MPs can get you water?Ok, done with my 1hr and change.I have tried to cover much, but hopefully i can do another thread after more research.Haya, watu wa Langata, now that you understand the role of the MP, what do you think can be done?Water has been the number 1 issue flagged. Where i stay, we get water 4 times a week, so i know the other parts of Langata can get water.Question is, mbona hakuna maji langata ward? (Source: https://threader.app/thread/1384780242410262530)
