EACC Now Probes Former CS Fred Matiang’i’s Wealth

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission has written to Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei seeking information on former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i’s declared wealth.

In a letter dated February 27, CEO Twalib Mbarak says the Commission “is carrying out investigations involving Dr. Fred Matiangi.”

“Pursuant to Section 30(1) (4) (b) of the Public Officers Ethics Act, the Commission wishes to request for Certified Copies of Declaration of Income, Assets and Liabilities forms for years 2012 to 2022, including the initial and final declarations,” adds the letter.

Furthermore, Mbarak delegates EACC officers Abdul Low and Paul Mugwe to collect the documents from Koskei’s office at Harambee House.

The latest development will pile more pressure on the beleaguered former “Super CS.”

of Dr. Matiang’i to obtain CCTV recordings over the alleged police raid of February 9, 2023.

Dr. Matiang’i, who had been appointed by former President Uhuru Kenyatta was replaced at the Interior Security and Coordination of National Government docket by Prof. Kithure Kindiki.
