A businessman accused of reconnecting electricity after it was disconnecting over Sh 6.6 million might appear in court to answer to the offense.
Abdullahi Sheikh Mohamed was to plead to the charges on 21st September 2020 but contested the charges making the court to issue a date for delivering the ruling of the application by his lawyer objecting plea taking. Principal Magistrate Bernanrd Ochoi will deliver the ruling on Monday 28th.
Mohamed is being accused of connecting or permitting to be connected, a service cable for electricity an electricity meter which supplies electrical energy to Green Valley Market limited after being disconnected due to nonpayment of electricity outstanding bill of Sh 6,697,459.57 without consent of Kenya Power and lighting company.
He is alleged to have committed the offence on diverse dates between 28th August and 17th September this year at Green Valley market limited in South C estate, Nairobi, without lawful authority.
Mohamed is also accused of tampering with three seals of two meter numbers which had been placed on the meter board in the premises which houses the said market without authority of the licensee.
He is alleged to have committed this offense between 7th and 17th September 2020 at Green Valley market limited.
