Businessman Charged Over Sh1.6 Million Insurance Fraud

A businessman has been charged in a Nairobi court with conspiracy to defraud CIC General insurance company over Sh 1millionn as medical bill for six patients

Captain Ondabu Kiage appeared before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi and denied conspiracy to defraud charges levelled against him by the state.

He is accused that on February 11,2019 at unknown place jointly with others not before conspired to defraud CIC General insurance Sh1, 430,100 million being medical bills settlement for six patients.

Kiage is also accused of defrauding Sh209, 866. 50 being medical bills settlement of two patients.

The accused person is said to have fraudulently added the victims as beneficiaries of Police sacco medical scheme with CIC General insurance.

Kiage is also facing charge of defrauding the said insurance company Sh 93, 511.

He was released on a cash bail of Sh 100, 000.
