Borabu Residents Wants MP Ben Momanyi Probed By DCI And EACC

Residents of Borabu constituency in Nyamira county are up in arms with their MP Ben Momanyi over the manner in which the NG-CDF funds were being utilised. The bitter residents have consequently petitioned the Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti, and his counterpart EACC Twalib Mbarak to swing into action and investigate the financial scandals which have riddled the NG-CDF kitty by bringing to book those who were behind the scam. They also called for thorough investigations of all NG-CDF committee members who they claimed were living a life beyond their own means and making.

The residents who never wanted to be quoted in fear of being victimised told Weekly Citizen that the funds from the NG-CDF kitty were technically siphoned through learning institutions, ghost students and projects and exaggerated cost of projects. Investigations carried out by this writer established that cheques given to institutions were higher than the cost of the projects, and therefore, the heads of institutions were forced to surrender the extra funds back to the nominated NGCDF committee members and those who could not do so were blacklisted by being denied further funding.
