Before the coronavirus pandemic hit Kenya, very few of the officials in the Ministry of Health were known to the public.
Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe was the only name on many Kenyans’ lips due to his efficient updating of the country on the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, at some point, he needed help and one of his assistants stepped forward.
Little known Dr Mercy Mwangangi then started showing up to give the daily briefings on the coronavirus epidemic. She is the Health Chief Administrative Secretary.
It did not take long before many people, especially some men started getting carried away with romantic feelings during with her sessions, and, of course, attracted by her good looks.
In many cases after an update by Dr Mwangangi, some smitten men have been changing the Covid-19 conversation into discussing her beauty.
With time, Team Mafisi (lovestruck male admirers) started to stalk the beautiful government official, hoping to known aboiut her marital status.
Then came her interview on KTN with fellow doctor Mercy Korir on Saturday, 25th April, in which the 33-year-old disclosed that she is not yet engaged.
However, her second line was disappointing for Team Mafisi after she declared that she has a “supportive partner”.
“My mother is a lawyer and my father is a businessman. I have a brother, who is 10 year younger. I’m married to my work but I have a supportive partner,” Dr Mwangangi said.
She added that she is not under any pressure from family members to settle down.
“My father is usually my biggest cheerleader, if you ask him right now he probably thinks I able to take over the world,” she stated.
Even though she did state who the “supportive partner” is, many have suggested that she is currently dating someone.
