Father Who Allowed His Underage Son To Drive Toyota Prado Arrested

Police in Kirwara, Murang’a County on Monday evening arrested a man whose son was captured on video driving a Toyota Prado within Gatanga Constituency.

Mr Ayub Kinyanjui was nabbed by detectives and will be arraigned in court on Tuesday, July 15.

The minor-aged seven was over the weekend captured in a video that has seen fine viral driving the flash car. He did not, however, get involved in an accident.

In a police statement seen the operation to nab the man was led by detectives drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

“He is the owner of the said motor vehicle and father to the minor who is aged seven years old. He is to appear in court tomorrow,” part of the statement filed at Kirwara police station read in part.

Police said that the father will be charged for the offence of permitting a person who is not a holder of a valid driving license to drive a motor vehicle.

While driving the minor was cheered by members of the public for how well he was moving the vehicle.

The Kenyan law does not allow minors to drive vehicles as licenses are only issued to adults.
